Alapaha Rabbiteye Blueberry (Vaccinium virgatum ‘Alapaha’) – An early-season rabbiteye blueberry variety developed for excellent performance in Southern growing conditions. Produces medium-sized, firm, light blue berries with a sweet flavor and excellent texture. Known for its consistent production and concentrated ripening, making harvesting easier. Excellent for fresh eating, baking, smoothies, jams, jellies, and homemade preserves. Features delicate white to pale pink bell-shaped flowers in spring followed by attractive green foliage that develops beautiful shades of red and orange in fall. Berries typically ripen in early summer. Vigorous, upright-growing shrub with good heat tolerance and adaptability to the Southeast. Prefers full sun and acidic, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Grows approximately 5–6 feet tall and wide. Requires cross-pollination with another compatible rabbiteye blueberry variety for improved pollination and fruit production.
