Black Chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa) – A hardy, attractive native North American shrub known for its clusters of dark purple-black berries and beautiful seasonal foliage. Produces small, glossy black berries with a tart, astringent flavor when fresh, making them especially popular for jams, jellies, juices, syrups, baking, and homemade preserves. Features clusters of delicate white flowers in spring followed by dark green foliage that transforms into brilliant shades of red, orange, and purple in fall. Berries typically ripen in late summer to early fall and are also attractive to wildlife. Adaptable, low-maintenance shrub that tolerates a variety of soil conditions. Prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-draining soil. Grows approximately 3–6 feet tall and wide. Self-fertile, so a sec
