Boysenberry (Rubus ursinus × idaeus) – A delicious hybrid berry known for its large, deep reddish-purple to nearly black fruit and rich, sweet-tart flavor. Produces juicy, tender berries with a distinctive blend of blackberry, raspberry, and loganberry flavors. Excellent for fresh eating, baking, cobblers, pies, jams, jellies, sauces, and homemade preserves. Features delicate white to pale pink blossoms in spring followed by abundant fruit that typically ripens in early to mid-summer. Vigorous, trailing canes that benefit from a trellis or support system as they grow. Prefers full sun and fertile, well-draining soil. Grows approximately 5–6 feet tall with trailing canes that can extend considerably longer. Self-fertile, so a second boysenberry plant is not required for fruit production.
