Brightwell Blueberry (Vaccinium virgatum ‘Brightwell’) – A popular rabbiteye blueberry variety known for its heavy production of medium to large, light blue berries with a sweet, mild flavor and firm texture. Produces abundant clusters of flavorful fruit, making them excellent for fresh eating, baking, smoothies, jams, jellies, and homemade preserves. Features delicate white to pale pink bell-shaped flowers in spring followed by attractive green foliage that turns shades of red and orange in fall. Berries typically ripen in mid to late summer, providing a dependable harvest season. Vigorous, upright-growing shrub with excellent heat tolerance and adaptability to Southern growing conditions. Prefers full sun and acidic, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Grows approximately 6–10 feet tall and wide. Requires cross-pollination with another compatible rabbiteye blueberry variety for improved berry size and fruit production.
