Dorsett Golden Apple (Malus domestica ‘Dorsett Golden’) – A popular low-chill apple variety especially well suited for Southern growing conditions. Known for its attractive golden-yellow skin, sometimes featuring a rosy blush, and crisp, juicy flesh with a sweet, mildly tart flavor. Produces medium-sized apples that are excellent for fresh eating, baking, pies, applesauce, and homemade preserves. Features beautiful white to pale pink blossoms in early spring followed by fruit that typically ripens in early summer, making it one of the earliest apple varieties to harvest. Vigorous, productive tree that prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Grows approximately 10–20 feet tall and wide. Requires cross-pollination with another compatible apple variety, with Anna apple being a popular companion for improved fruit production.
