Kieffer Pear (Pyrus communis ‘Kieffer’) – Popular Southern pear variety known for its heavy production of large, golden-yellow fruit with a beautiful reddish blush. Features crisp, juicy, white flesh with a slightly coarse texture. Excellent for canning, baking, pear preserves, homemade pear butter, and fresh eating when properly ripened. Produces beautiful white blossoms in spring followed by fruit that ripens in late September through October. Vigorous, productive tree that tolerates heat and a variety of soil conditions. Prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Grows approximately 15–20 feet tall and wide. Partially self-fertile, but planting another compatible pear variety nearby can improve fruit production.
