Russian Giant Pomegranate (Punica granatum ‘Russian Giant’) – A hardy, productive pomegranate variety known for its large, round fruit with attractive reddish-pink skin and juicy, deep red arils. Produces flavorful fruit with a sweet-tart taste, making it excellent for fresh eating, juicing, cooking, and homemade preserves. Features beautiful, bright orange-red flowers throughout the growing season followed by fruit that typically ripens in late summer to fall. Vigorous, multi-stemmed shrub or small tree with improved cold tolerance compared to many traditional pomegranate varieties. Prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Grows approximately 10–15 feet tall and wide, but can be maintained smaller with pruning. Self-fertile, so a second pomegranate plant is not required for fruit production.
