Fuyu Persimmon (Diospyros kaki ‘Fuyu’) – A popular non-astringent persimmon variety known for its beautiful orange fruit and sweet, crisp flesh. Produces medium to large, round, tomato-shaped persimmons that can be enjoyed while still firm, similar to an apple. Features a rich, honey-like sweetness with hints of brown sugar, making it excellent for fresh eating, salads, baking, drying, and homemade preserves. Produces attractive foliage that turns brilliant shades of orange, red, and yellow in fall, adding seasonal beauty to the landscape. Fruit typically ripens in mid to late fall. Vigorous, productive tree that prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Grows approximately 15–20 feet tall and wide. Self-fertile, so a second persimmon tree is not required for fruit production.
